These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and ucookit ("ucookit", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the ucookit mobile application, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully.
By creating an account, tapping "Agree", or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1.Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. An account is required to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials secure, and to be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
2.License to use ucookit
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not: copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the Service; resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit it; use it to build a competing product; scrape or bulk-extract its content; or circumvent any security, usage, or access limitation. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
3.Not medical or nutritional advice
ucookit provides recipes, meal plans, and estimated calorie, macronutrient, and hydration information for general informational and convenience purposes only. It is not medical, nutritional, dietary, or health advice, and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional. Nutritional and calorie figures are estimates and may be inaccurate. You are solely responsible for decisions about what you cook and eat. If you have a medical condition, food allergy, are pregnant, or have specific dietary needs, consult a qualified professional before relying on any information in the Service. Never disregard professional advice because of something you read in ucookit.
4.AI-generated content
Features such as recipe import, "find top-rated" search, and Snap-a-meal calorie estimates are powered by artificial intelligence and third-party providers. AI output can be incorrect, incomplete, biased, or out of date, and may misidentify ingredients, quantities, allergens, or calories. You must independently verify any AI-generated result before relying on it, and you use such features at your own risk. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any AI output.
5.Allergen and food-safety notice
ucookit does not detect or guarantee the absence of allergens and does not verify food-safety practices. Ingredient lists, substitutions, and imported recipes may be incomplete or inaccurate. If you have allergies or intolerances, do not rely on ucookit - check original sources and labels yourself. You are responsible for safe food handling, storage, and preparation.
6.Your content and acceptable use
You retain ownership of the content you create or upload (for example, recipes, notes, and photos). You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate the Service for you (for example, to run an AI request you initiate). You represent that you have the rights to any content you submit and that it does not infringe others' rights or violate any law.
You agree not to use the Service to: violate any law or regulation; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; upload unlawful, harmful, or offensive material; transmit malware; harass others; or interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure. We may remove content or suspend access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms.
7.Subscriptions, billing, and auto-renewal
Some features require a paid subscription ("ucookit Pro"). Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms, not directly by us.
- Payment is charged to your app-store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage or cancel your subscription in your device's app-store account settings - deleting the app or your ucookit account does not cancel a subscription and does not entitle you to a refund.
- Refunds, where available, are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- We may change subscription pricing or features prospectively; changes apply to renewals after notice as required by the app stores or law.
8.Free trials
We may offer a free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it will convert to a paid subscription and your app-store account will be charged. Trial eligibility and terms are at our discretion, and we may modify or withdraw a trial at any time.
9.Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, the ucookit name and logo, and all related intellectual property, is owned by ucookit or its licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. You may not use our trademarks or branding without our prior written permission.
10.Third-party services
The Service relies on and may link to third-party services (for example, OpenAI, Brave Search, Render, Expo/EAS, Apple, and Google). We are not responsible for third-party services, their content, or their practices, and your use of them may be governed by their own terms.
11.Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, the licenses granted to you end. Sections that by their nature should survive - including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution - survive termination.
12.Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any content, recipe, estimate, or AI output will be accurate or reliable. You use the Service at your own risk.
13.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ucookit and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, health outcomes, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
14.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ucookit and its owners, employees, and suppliers from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
15.Dispute resolution and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ucookit operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. To the extent permitted by law, you and ucookit agree to first try to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us. If a dispute is not resolved, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved on an individual basis, and you and ucookit waive any right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in this section limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence.
16.Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or ask you to re-accept. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
17.Apple App Store terms
If you download the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and ucookit only, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the extent the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
18.General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and ucookit regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
